International diplomat, writer and world trekker, Rory Stewart, to visit UAA

The University of Alaska Geography Program and the UAA Department of Geography and Environmental Studies will host author Rory Stewart for a free public lecture tonight at 7 p.m. in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium. Stewart authored the Prince of the Marshes and the 2006 New York Times bestseller The Places in Between.

Stewart will tell the story of his time spent in Iraq working as deputy governor of the province of Maysan and senior advisor in the province of Dhi Qar. A book signing will take place prior to the lecture on Monday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at the UAA Campus Bookstore. A book signing will also follow the public lecture at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium.
