What, Where, Who (9 of 10)

by Kathleen McCoy  |

For the next couple of weeks we will remember the people and events that have made UAA a leading university, and we want you to join in playing the "What, Where, Who" game. Every day for the next two days we will have a question about UAA's past (the combined history of ACC and UAA).

Chancellor Ulmer invites all faculty, students, staff, alumni, retirees and interested folks to a reception on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the UAA Archives (Consortium Library 3rd Floor) where we will remember UAA's accomplishments--and the contest winner will be announced. First prize is lunch for six at the fabulous Cuddy Center Dining Room! So answer as many questions as you can--the facts may surprise you!

Today's question is: What was the name of the first student newspaper distributed on the ACC campus?

Respond by e-mail to ayalum@uaa.alaska.edu with your answer. And play again tomorrow! "What, Where, Who" is open for all UAA staff, students, faculty, alumni and retirees to play.

Yesterday's winner is Susan Harper who answered "There were two relocatables with letter designations of Bldg. H and Bldg. I. They were known as the 'red buildings' and were a 'barn red' color." to the questions: "One of the features of the ACC campus were the relocatables. How many were there, and what color were they? For bonus points, what were their letter designators?"
