2008 Complex Systems seminar: "Geeks Without Borders"

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Join the UAA Complex Systems Group and Dr. Alex Hills, Distinguished Service Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and President of Alex Hills Associates, on Friday, March 21 at noon in Consortium Library room 307 as he describes, "Geeks Without Borders," a program at his university that sends students to work on information and communication technology (ICT) projects around the world, helping non-profit organizations and third world government agencies develop computer and telecommunication systems.

Students work on projects from Chile to Palau and from the Cook Islands to Sri Lanka.  Dr. Hills will introduce you to some of the program's students, projects and hosts, and he will describe the impact of the students' work.

This presentation is free and open to the public. Please feel free to bring your lunch.
