Student 'Speaker of the Coalition' sought for state-wide student leaders

The University of Alaska Coalition of Student Leaders is looking for UA students to apply for the Speaker of the Coalition. The Coalition is a state wide organization of student leaders. The Coalition Speaker interacts with a wide range of people including student leaders, elected officials and members of the Board of Regents while serving for one academic year, July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.

Other duties include the authority to set the meeting time, place and agenda, in addition to presiding over all meetings of the Coalition. Students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, along with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and to think abstractly about multiple issues.

The deadline to submit nominations is April 1.
