Earn tuition waivers while helping high school students learn about college

by Kathleen McCoy  |

UAA is starting an exciting new program to help high school students learn about college life. We are looking for UAA students who are interested in participating in community-based learning and research for a semester-long project in the fall of 2009 as Community Service-Learning Advocates. Interested UAA students would engage with Anchorage high school students in fun orientation, community building and leadership activities for a one credit tuition waiver.

If interested, please contact Dr. Marie Lowe at marie.lowe@uaa.alaska.edu for more information and please visit the Center for Community Engagement and Learning's Web site for the application and to find out more about the Service-Learning Advocates program. The deadline for all applications is Tuesday, Sept. 1.
