UAA's Confucius Institute offers conversation Mandarin Chinese courses this fall

UAA Confucius Institute will offer more non-credit Mandarin Chinese language courses to UAA students and the local community in the fall.
- Mandarin Chinese I for Parents and Kids: 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays from Sept. 4 through Dec. 11 in Rasmuson Hall Room 220. The instructor is Fan Xiaojun. This class is appropriate for children age 5 and older. Children must be accompanied by their parent(s).
- Conversational Mandarin Chinese I: 6-8 p.m. every Monday beginning Aug. 30 through Dec. 6 in Sally Monserud Hall (SMH), Room 108. The instructor is Fan Xiaojun
- Conversational Mandarin Chinese II: 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday from Sept 1 Dec. 8 in Sally Monserud Hall (SMH), Room 109. The instructor is Fan Xiaojun. The prerequisite for this class is Conversational Mandarin Chinese I or passing a placement test with the instructor.
- Conversational Mandarin Chinese III: 6-8 p.m. every Thursday from Sept. 2 through Dec. 9 in SMH Room 104. The instructor is Fan Xiaojun. The prerequisite will be completing Conversational Mandarin Chinese II or passing a placement test with the instructor
- Chinese Characters I: 6-8 p.m. every Tuesday from Aug. 31 through Dec. 7 in SMH 104. The instructor is Jiying Huang. This is a course for everyone who wants to concentrate on learning Chinese characters. Each Chinese character has a story. Learn about Chinese culture as you learn the origins and meaning of the individual characters.
