TONIGHT: Polaris lecture: Margaret Stock on 'The Constitution and Citizenship" on Sept. 17

Margaret D. Stock will present the 6th Annual Constitution Day Polaris Lecture, speaking on "The Constitution and Citizenship: Modern Day Challenges to the Founder's Ideals," discussing the concept of citizenship as understood at the time of the Constitution's ratification and how that concept has changed over time, the impact of the 14th Amendment's 'birthright citizen' clause, and the modern understanding of Constitutional American citizenship.

Stock earned her J.D. at Harvard Law School and her Master's in Public Administration at the Kennedy School of Government, is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve, Military Police Corps, and an adjunct instructor in UAA's Political Science Department. She is one of the nation's leading experts on Birthright Citizenship issues.

This event is free and open to the public. Parking at UAA is free Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
