Juneau trip: March 2011

USUAA's Legislative Affairs Committee is gearing up for their annual advocacy trip to Juneau. The trip will be taking place sometime in March 2011.

According to the Legislative Advocacy Team application, "The USUAA Legislative Advocacy Team travels to Juneau each March to meet with legislators, lobbyists and key personnel to voice the concerns of the UAA student body on various legislative issues. Before traveling to Juneau the Advocacy Team holds programs and meets with UAA students to gather stories and information that will enhance the team's ability to represent the student voice."

The Advocacy Team applications will be available Monday, Nov. 8 for students to apply. USUAA is looking for as many applicants as possible.

"This is a great opportunity for all students of the UAA community to let their voices be heard by the elected officials in Juneau regarding the direction of the University and the resources that must be allocated for the benefit of all students at UAA," USUAA Sen. Michael Noble said.

To get an Advocacy Team application or for more information students can visit the Union of Students website or stop by the Student Government Office, Room 201 in the Student Union. Applications are due by Noon on Nov. 29. Students can turn in applications to Student Government Office or the Student Life and Leadership Office, Room 218 in the Student Union.
