Gordon Hartlieb Hall, Room 103

Laurie Walker, a School of Social Work faculty candidate will present "A mixed-methods study of resident readiness for transit-oriented mixed-income redevelopment" on Thursday, Jan. 26.

What do residents' relationships with each other, their belief that neighborhood organizations can get things done on their behalf, and having a neighborhood transition and/or relocation plan have to do with residents being prepared for public housing redevelopment? This study used both survey data and in-depth interviews and found evidence that resident involvement in neighborhood organizations helps prepare residents for neighborhood-level changes. Uninvolved residents may require other interventions to help prepare them for neighborhood-level change.
