by Ted Kincaid  |

The Chugiak-Eagle River Campus (CERC) is the new home of a recycling program for paper, plastic and aluminum thanks to the work of Student Services Manager Annie Passarello who coordinated the recycling effort with UAA's Office of Sustainability.

The Office of Sustainability reports that from July 2011 to May 2012 UAA, overall, recycled more than 245,000 pounds of materials:

  · 1,246 pounds of aluminum
  · 334 pounds of metals
  · 3,684 pounds of plastic
  · 220,431 pounds of paper
  · 19,556 pounds of cardboard
