    The programs within the Institutional Effectiveness, Engagement and Academic Support serve several important roles: provide direction for faculty development,support new programs to improve teaching and learning, provide data and analysis of UAA's performance to aid in decision-making and accreditation, foster UAA's service-learning and community engagement activities, and help to clarify and demonstrate UAA's value in the greater community. The office is designed to ask tough questions, develop new initiatives, and support innovative solutions.

Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Engagement and Academic Support provides leadership for community partnership programs and university performance reporting, plus oversight for the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence, Center for Community Engagement & Learning, Academic Innovations & eLearning, Office of Institutional Research, and the Chugiak-Eagle River Campus (CERC).
  • Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence
    Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) is a colleague-to-colleague teaching and learning center that promotes excellence and innovation in teaching, research, creative activity and engagement in an atmosphere of collegiality. CAFE offers workshops, events and other assistance to faculty on all five UAA campuses.
  • Center for Community Engagement & Learning
    Center for Community Engagement & Learning serves as the intersection of student learning, faculty research and creative activity, and community engagement.  Our mission is to connect academic programs with community needs to use scholarship and action for the mutual benefit of the University and the State, its communities, and its diverse people.
  • Academic Innovations & eLearning
    Academic Innovations & eLearning (AI&e) supports the UAA learning environment by fostering quality instructional practices, innovation, and technologies. Consisting of instructional designers, developers, multimedia specialists, and student support personnel, we support eLearning, instructional technologies, and provide professional development opportunities for all of UAA and our rural campuses.

    Institutional Research supports UAA's mission through the effective development, efficient delivery, and appropriate education in the use of information for decision making.
  • Chugiak-Eagle River

    Chugiak-Eagle River is responsive to the needs of the local community by working collaboratively with community and university industry partners in the region.  CERC shares in the overall mission of UAA providing working adults and other students the opportunity to move forward toward educational goals by offering convenient evening and weekend courses.  The campus serves nearly 5,000 students and generates over 18,000 credit hours annually.  CERC offers a variety of General Education Requirements (GERs) for students, as well as required courses across several programs and elective/general interest courses.  CERC offers classes in all major disciplines from accounting to sociology.
