New deadline: Monday, Dec. 5, 5 p.m.

USUAA's Legislative Affairs Committee is gearing up for their annual advocacy trip to Juneau. The trip will be taking place in early February 2012.

The USUAA Legislative Advocacy Team travels to Juneau each spring to meet with legislators, lobbyists and key personnel to voice the concerns of the UAA student body on various legislative issues. Before traveling to Juneau the team meets with UAA students to gather stories and information that will enhance their ability to represent the student voice.

"This is a great opportunity for all students of the UAA community to let their voices be heard by the elected officials in Juneau regarding the direction of the university and the resources that must be allocated for the benefit of all students at UAA," USUAA Sen. Alejandra Buitrago said.

Applications are available online. USUAA is looking for as many applicants as possible.

Students can also stop by the Student Government office (SU 201) for applications or to ask questions. Completed applications must be submitted to the Student Government office or the Student Life and Leadership office (SU 218) before 12 p.m. on Nov. 11.
