Arguing Alaska debate series returns Oct. 24

The Seawolf Debate program's Arguing Alaska debate series tackles yet another controversial issue in its much-anticipated fall return on Monday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub.
Alaska Sen. Mike Dunleavy and Anchorage Daily Planet Editor Paul Jenkins will argue their support for the statement: “Political correctness has compromised free thought in American universities.” Arguing for the opposition will be Diane Hirschberg, director of the UAA Center for Alaska Education Policy Research, and Daniel Kline, director of the UAA Department of English.
The Arguing Alaska debate series is a collaborative initiative begun by the Seawolf Debate program and Alaska Dispatch News to promote positive community discourse on policy topics important to the Alaska community. Debates occur between community members such as policymakers, academics and specialists.
