UAA Planetarium hosts virtual chat with NASA engineer

Bob Floyd with NASA’s Orion Project beams into the planetarium dome 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20

Aug. 17, 2015

On Thursday the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Planetarium & Visualization Theater will host a virtual chat with Bob Floyd, a NASA Engineer working on the Orion Spacecraft.

NASA's Orion spacecraft is built to take humans farther than they've ever gone before. Orion will serve as the exploration vehicle that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during the space travel, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities. Orion will launch on NASA's new heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System.

Learn the latest news about Orion during this free, real-time discussion with Floyd at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The UAA Planetarium is located on campus in the ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building at 3101 Science Circle.
