Bio: 

Khafani Abel earned her bachelor's degree in History from the University of Alaska Anchorage and her master's degree in Educational Technology and Instructional Design from Western Governors University. Before joining the advising team, she spent nine years as an upper elementary educator, where she developed a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals. She enjoys supporting UAA students as they navigate their academic journeys and discover new opportunities. A longtime Alaskan, she enjoys reading, cooking, singing, anime, and exploring early modern European history.
