Biography
An energetic and enthusiastic graduate of UAA’s Medical Assisting program with many
years of experience to share. A motivated professional with eight years of face-to-face
teaching experience who truly enjoys helping shape the careers of new Medical Assistants
entering the workforce.
Danny served in the United States Air Force where he dedicated the last eight years
of his career assigned to the Non-commissioned Officer's Academy as an Academic Instructor,
preparing mid-level managers for positions of increased responsibility. Over the course
of the next dozen years, he served in various positions at the University of Alaska,
to include a Training Coordinator at UA Corporate Programs, Veteran's Coordinator,
and Associate Director of Financial Aid.
After graduating from UAA's Medical Assisting Program in 2015, Danny has worked in
the Pediatric and Family Medicine clinical environment, as well as several roles on
the administrative side of the house.
When not working, Danny enjoys spending time with his family, which includes ten grandchildren.
Having been 'transplanted' in Anchorage by the Air Force in 1991, he fully appreciates
the beauty and wonder of the Great State of Alaska, and generally prefers to be outside
enjoying all that it has to offer.
Danny's favorite quote is from Dr Martin Luther King, Jr: "If a man is called to be
a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven
composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all
the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper
who did his job well.'"
