The Annual Alaska PreMed Summit is back! Hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage’s WWAMI School of Medical Education, the Alaska PreMed Summit is a FREE event that prepares attendees for the steps ahead in pursuit of a degree and career in medicine. Content is geared toward all interested parties, including prospective students, parents, school counselors and advisors. Attendees will hear from current professionals, advisors and students from the WWAMI School of Medical Education, UW MEDEX Physician Assistant program and ISU’s Doctor of Pharmacy programs. Learn about prerequisites, application processes, and get tips on being a competitive applicant.

The 2022 Summit took place online and provided keynote speakers, panels with experts from various health careers and programs, and interactive interprofessional health scenarios, not to mention the opportunity to win great prizes!
2021 Summit Archive
The 2021 Summit took place via Zoom and provided students the opportunity to learn about the competitive application selection process for several clinical health programs as well as study skills and learning strategies. Panel discussions gave participants an opportunity to chat with faculty and staff from various clinical, community, and behavioral health programs across the College of Health. Students and community members may continue to use these resources to learn more about health careers in Alaska and degree programs at UAA.
