Faculty Professional Development Awards

The Faculty Development and Travel Grants offered through the Office of Academic Affairs are no longer available due to funding cuts. Funding for Faculty Professional Development, including travel to conferences and awards for research, is available each year through UNAC Faculty Development Awards, as stated in the UNAC CBA 15.9.

Calls for applications are made usually in the Fall (typically October) and the Spring (typically March or April if any funds remain). The announcement will be in an email from UNAC. Application deadlines will vary - watch for an email from UNAC.

 

  • Applications should be submitted through an online link given in the email. Follow the directions in the email carefully.
  • The Labor Management Committee will review and rank all applications, and make decisions about awards. Decision letters will go out several weeks after the application deadline, as stated in the email.
  • Awards are usually for a maximum of $2500 per fiscal year, but smaller awards may be made depending on amount of funding available and number of applications received.
  • Awards must be spent within the fiscal year awarded (July to June). Awards not spent within the fiscal year cannot be rolled to the next fiscal year.
  • Retroactive funding is permitted within the fiscal year as long as expenses are made within the fiscal year in accordance with UA Travel and other regulations. All travel must be routed through the Concur system.
