Another postal rate increase

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The United States Postal Service is yet again increasing the overall rate to ship letters and packages. On May 14 the new rates will take effect. Please click here for an explanation of the reason behind these rates, as well as what the new rates will be.

Departments must remember that the increase in postal rates will also cause an increase in the amount GSS charges to ship letters and packages. Students must remember that letters, bills and packages will not be sent if stamped with an insufficient amount of postage after May 14.

However, the USPS did approve Forever Stamps. These stamps are good forever, even if rates increase and cost about as much as a normal stamp.
