ClubEd to host award winning author

George Guthridge, teacher and award winning author, will discuss his latest book, The Kids from Nowhere, The Story Behind the Artic Educational Miracle. This text chronicles his experiences with Alaska Native youth in a remote village school. Under Guthridge's guidance, ten of these youths went on to become champions in one of the most difficult academic competitions in the nation. His students have gone on to graduate from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, West Point, Yale Law School, MIT and Stanford. Guthridge will speak on April 16 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Library 307.
