The Summer Institute for European Student Leaders in Education, a program funded by the U.S. Department of State, will take place at UAA this summer.
Fulbright Commissions in four Western European countries selected the 10 participants, who are highly motivated students from diverse backgrounds majoring in education and demonstrating leadership through academic work, community involvement and extracurricular activities. The academic program, focusing on diversity and integration in U.S. Schools, will be led by Dr. Abbie Wolfe of the College of Education.
Opportunities for interaction with the program are available to all, including faculty, on and off campus organizations, students and other private persons. Hosting opportunities include both homestay (tentatively August 10 - August 23) and/or simply committing to spend time with your student at least twice a week, either in independently organized or provided activities (tentatively July 23-August 9). Students are residents of France, Denmark, Spain, Germany, 20-25 years old, male and female. For more information e-mail anovl@uaa.alaska.edu or call (907) 786.4325
