The Gulag Exhibit

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The Gulag Exhibit at the Stanford University Hover Tower includes material donated to the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace by Adjunct Professor of English, Svaja Vansauskas Worthington. The material, now a collection at the Hoover Archives, concerns her grandfather, Stasys Silingas, a Lithuanian statesman and Gulag survivor. It includes original letters written from exile, photographs and KGB documents about him. The exhibit features Silingas and is in the Rotunda of the Tower, visited by 500 people daily.
