UAA College of Health and Social Welfare appoints Dr. Richard Windsor Presidential Professor of Public Health

Dr. Richard Windsor, M.S., Ph.D., M.P.H., has been appointed Presidential Professor
of Public Health in the College of Health and Social Welfare at the University of
Alaska Anchorage effective July 1.Dr. Windsor is jointly appointed as professor in
the Department of Prevention and Community Health at the School of Public Health,
George Washington University Medical Center.
He is primary investigator or co-primary investigator of numerous research studies
funded by the National Institutes of Health and private foundations. He has had extensive
experience as a faculty member and administrator of graduate programs in public health,
including success in applications for national accreditation. Dr. Windsor has worked
and spoken in several other countries and has authored many refereed publications.
In addition to being a faculty of the Master of Public Health Program, Dr. Windsor
will provide leadership to the CHSW in the development of a strategic plan for extramural
research; and provide mentoring and professional development for the University's
faculty and the CHSW in research development. Dr. Windsor will also work with CHSW
to strengthen collaborative efforts with other intra-university units and with external
partners.
