Fall 2007: UAA presents one of a kind Prince Orlofsky's Opera Tea Party
by Kathleen McCoy |
The UAA Opera Ensemble presents the 4th annual Opera Tea Party - the only one of its
kind in Anchorage. The infamous Prince Orlofsky, a character from Johann Strauss'
Die Fledermaus, will host the festivities on Nov. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the UAA Student
Union Den.
Featuring members of the UAA Opera Ensemble and voice faculty Mari Hahn and Stasia
Jamieson, the program will include beautiful gems such as the Flower Duet from Lakmé,
excerpts from Mozart operas, and some hilarious antics by Gilbert and Sullivan.
Presented in an up-close and personal style, the performance will be accompanied by
delectable desserts, organic coffee and special teas. And to satisfy the early Christmas
shopper, a silent auction will feature fine art, jewelry, restaurant gift certificates,
voice lessons and more. All proceeds benefit the UAA Opera Ensemble's main productions.
Admission is $15 for general admission, and $10 for students, seniors and military.
Tickets are available at the door or by calling (907) 786-1009. Doors will open at
1 p.m. on Sunday, November 4.
For more information contact Mari Hahn at (907) 786-1009.
