Music Dept., Anchorage Opera collaborate in performances

The UAA Department of Music and the Anchorage Opera, in a first-time collaboration, present "Sled Puppy Sing Opera a la Carte!" Anchorage Opera music director Tom Getty and UAA professor Mari Hahn lead the UAA Opera Ensemble in a performance of operatic excerpts from works by Mozart, Rossini, Delibes, Gilbert and Sullivan, and a rare excerpt from the Spanish zarzuela "La Revoltosa." Thrilling music, hilarious antics and lots of audience interaction are to be expected in each of two performances: Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church (725 W 9th Ave.), and Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts recital hall. $10 general admission, $5 students, seniors and military, $2 students.
