Dr. King, Civil Rights and the Hip-Hop Generation Jan. 24

UAA is honored to host Kevin Powell for a free public lecture to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. Powell, a political activist, poet, journalist, essayist, hip-hop historian, public speaker and entrepreneur, will present a lecture entitled "Dr. King, Civil Rights and the Hip-Hop Generation." The lecture, co-sponsored by UAA Student Activities and the Anchorage Folk Festival, will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 7 p.m. in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium.
