Spring 2008: Hip-hop and political activism at UAA this weekend

The Hip-Hop Association returns to Anchorage for this blowout event featuring the first Hip-Hop artist elected to political office and U.S. Cultural Ambassador, George Martinez and spoken word poet and entrepreneur Rolando Brown on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the UAA Student Union. Live hip-hop theater will be presented by Hueman Prophets featuring DJ RBI.

Why? Because Knowledge is Power! Learn how to use hip-hop to create political and social change. Get a real world education on how the political system works. Join Alaska youth in a world-wide movement of youth using hip-hop to change their communities.
