The Alaska Pro Musica trio performs Sunday, January 20

UAA music faculty Walter Olivares (violin), Timothy Smith (piano) and Mark Wolbers (clarinet) will be joined by guest artist Anastasia Jamieson (soprano) in a performance of the "Shogun Trio" by Paul Chihara, "Slang" by Libby Larsen, the world premiere of "Winter Songs" by Alaska composer Philip Munger, and the classic "l'Histoire du Soldat" by Igor Stravinsky.

The Stravinsky "l'Histoire du Soldat" also happens to be the title of Alaska Pro Musica's latest nationally released CD. The recording features works by Stravinsky and Bartok along with two world premier recordings of music by Craig Coray and Ken Benshoof. The CD will be available for sale at the concert.

Alaska Pro Musica will perform Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the UAA Fine Arts Building Room 150, Recital Hall. All seats are General Admission. Tickets are $17 general and $15 students, seniors and military, available through CenterTix.net (263-ARTS) and the UAA Fine Arts Building Box Office (786-4849).
