by Kathleen McCoy |
On Monday, Feb. 18 from 12:15 to 2 p.m., author Kirkpatrick Hill will visit UAA. Hill has published seven excellent children/young adult books. Her books include: Toughboy and Sister; Do Not Pass Go; Winter Camp; Minuk: Girls of Many Lands; Dancing at the Odinochka; The Year of Miss Agnes. Kirkpatrick Hill lives in Fairbanks, Alaska and was an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, mostly in the Alaska "bush." She is the mother of six children and the grandmother of eight. Her visits to a family member in jail inspired her to write Do Not Pass Go. And her book Dancing at the Odinochka, was a Junior Library Guild Selection. Everyone is invited to help welcome Kirkpatrick Hill.
