Zie'l concert Friday to mark King's assassination

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The sweet spiritual sounds of gospel recording group Zie'l will resound in concert on Friday, April 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium to mark the 40th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

All the way from Shreveport, Louisiana, Zie'l has created a sound that has drawn comparisons to the harmonic style of the Clark Sisters. The comparison is perhaps most evident in the group's cover of the Clark Sisters' classic, "My Living In Vain."

The young women of Zie'l come packing a powerful punch through their melodies of inspiration. With magnificent voices, "They could get the devil himself to change his ways," says one critic. Learn more about the group at its Web site.
