Break-up can cause serious injury

Recently UAA has experienced a rash of slips and falls which have caused some serious injuries. For the most part, these falls have occurred during the early morning hours when the nighttime temperatures have caused isolated puddles and wet spots on the walkways and parking lots to freeze. While the icy spots usually melt by midmorning and our Grounds folks are working hard to spread salt on the icy areas, the hazardous conditions will more than likely continue for the next few weeks during the early morning and late night hours.

We ask that everyone exercise caution when walking during these times and avoid the icy areas as much as possible. Please notify Facilities Workload Management at (907) 786-6980 of any icy areas.
