The UAA Department of Music is sponsoring the first concert in its annual Jazz Concert Series, Wednesday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Arts Building Recital Hall.

This concert will feature New York City's Glenn White (tenor sax) with Barney McClure (piano) from Fairbanks and local artists Cameron Cartland (drums) and Dirk Westfall (bass).

Described as "a brilliant gem," Glenn's modern jazz compositions and highly-skilled, interactive playing have been called "a thoughtful, remarkable style," which is "original and at the same time well-grounded in the jazz tradition."

Barney McClure, who can be heard on the soundtrack of the movies Mr. Holland's Opus and An Officer and a Gentleman, will be joined by local talents, Cameron Cartland and Dirk Westfall.

Advance Tickets: $2 UAA students, $5 seniors, students and military and $10 general admission.
