by Kathleen McCoy  |

Join other UAA students on a short-term study abroad adventure to sunny Merida, Mexico Dec. 30 through Jan. 10. You can earn 1-3 elective credits for ANTH 297 or 397 (Independent Study on Ancient and Modern Mexico) and experience for yourself the wonders of the Maya as well as the modern culture of México. Students will live with host families and visit impressive ruins, exquisite cenotes, a Mayan community and beautiful beaches. The class will be taught by Dr. Christine Hanson of the Department of Anthropology. There will be five evening class meetings in November and December prior to the trip.

The program fee is $2,650 per student, and includes airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, most meals, bilingual local guides, entry fees to attractions and insurance. Course tuition and books are not included in the program fee.

The deadline to apply is October 15. Apply now, space is limited!
