Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Rasmuson Hall
The theme of this year's PreMed Summit is "Beyond the Classroom: Volunteering your way into medical school."
Discover what it takes to become a physician. Participants will learn about preparing for and applying to medical school, financing medical school, the medical education pathway, and more. They will hear pre-medical undergraduates, medical students, physicians in residency training and practicing physicians describe their experiences.
Tours of the Alaska WWAMI medical student facilities and mock medical school interviews will be offered. Information tables will be available, staffed by representatives from local hospitals, volunteer agencies, and other organizations of interest to pre-medical students.
Undergraduates, high school and non-traditional students, high school counselors and teachers, college advisors, and parents are invited to attend this FREE event. The Alaska PreMed Summit is sponsored by WWAMI -- Alaska's Medical School and the UAA University Honors College.
