Following an extraordinarily tough preliminary phase of the competition, eight teams of UAA students have been selected to compete in the Championship Round of the 2009 Cabin Fever Debates, UAA's intramural debating tournament. The Championship Round will determine which student team receives the $2,000 prize and the opportunity to compete in the U.S. Universities Debating Championships with the Seawolf Debate Team.

The motion for the Championship Round will be "The United States should prosecute the Bush administration for war crimes." The debate is scheduled for tonight, March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Social Sciences Building (SSB), Room 118; a reception and awards ceremony will follow the debate.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the Cabin Fever Debates Web site or call Steve Johnson at (907) 786-4391.
