Spring 2009: Seawolf Debate Team takes on Irish National Team in public exhibition

Tonight, March 25, 7 p.m.
UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307

This evening the Seawolf and Irish debaters will hold a public exhibition debate at 7 p.m. in the UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307. The debaters will engage one another in a modified version of the Irish Times format of debate while debating the motion: "This house would vote Palin in 2012." While the Seawolves will enjoy home field advantage, so to speak, the Irish benefit from debating in the format they are most familiar with. If past experience serves as an indicator of what is to come, the audience will be in store for a lively, humorous and enlightening display by the Irish.Join the Seawolves in making the home field advantage more of a factor.

In one week, the Seawolves will send three teams to the University of Vermont in Burlington for the U.S. Universities Debating Championships. Joining those teams are this year's Cabin Fever Debate champions Faith Caparas (sophomore, biology) and Kelcie Ralph (senior, economics).
