No Big Heads Self Portrait exhibit open through Nov. 12

This year's juror's lecture for the No Big Heads Self Portrait exhibit, by painter and sculptor Frank Herrmann, will be on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building, Room 150. This event is free and open to the public.

The exhibit opens Thursday, Oct. 29 in the Student Union Gallery, with a reception and awards from 5-7 p.m.

Herrmann received his bachelor of arts from Western Kentucky University and his master of fine arts from the University of Cincinnati. He began instructing at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH in 1973, and has continued there as a professor of fine arts in painting. He has received numerous awards, grants and fellowships for his work, including the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship in 2006.

Herrmann also has work in many public and private collections such as the museum collection in the Foundation and Center for Contemporary Art in Prague, Czech Republic.
