Through the efforts of the UAA/KPC Occupational Safety and Health Program and the UAA/APU Consortium Library, safety videos prepared by the Summit Safety Corporation can be accessed online and easily viewed in every office and classroom throughout the UAA system. The UAA/APU Consortium Library houses this new program and links to these safety videos are now ready to be used.

An example of the kind of video available is one on Cold Stress, described as:

According to recent findings from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in recent years an astonishing total of 4,607 death certificates in the United States had hypothermia-related diagnoses listed as the underlying cause of death or nature of injury leading. Hazards from environmental conditions, hypothermia and frostbite, can set in without warning and are not limited to winter alone. They can occur any season and in different environments such as freezers or refrigerators and when working underground or outdoors.

Protect your workers from such chilling hazards like frostbite and hypothermia and prevent costly accidents by training with Summit's Cold Stress course. Summit's breakthrough Cold Stress program educates viewers about hypothermia and frostbite, their warning signs, safety measures to take before working and warning signs during work.
