Tuesday, Feb. 2, 7-10 p.m.
Social Sciences Bldg., Room 118

The Seawolf Debate Team and the Alaska Debating Society are proud to sponsor the 5th Annual Cabin Fever Debates, UAA's intramural debating tournament. The tournament provides an opportunity for UAA students to hone critical thinking and advocacy skills while competing for great prizes. The Cabin Fever Debates were created to meet the needs of students who are not on UAA's competitive squad.

The second session will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 7-10 p.m. All participants should plan to attend this introductory session to participate in a tutorial on how to debate, watch a demonstration round by members of the Alaska Debating Society and Seawolf Debate Team, and be assigned pairings for the tournament. Competitors will then need to attend one of the preliminary round sessions on Tuesday evenings in February. The semifinal will take place on Tuesday, March 2, while the championship round will take place on Thursday, March 4. The debates are open to the public; so, even if you do not plan to compete, you are more than welcome to observe any of the debate rounds.

Registration is limited to the first 32 teams who enter the tournament. Please visit the tournament Web site at http://cabinfeverdebates.uaa.alaska.edu for more information and registration.
