Dewain Lee selected as Dean of Students and Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Development

Dewain Lee has accepted the position of Dean of Students and Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Development. Her dedication, student-centeredness, as well as her educational background in leadership, will serve UAA's students well.

Dr. Lee has more than 17 years experience in higher education administration, particularly in student success program development. In her most recent position as Dean of Student Success at Dillard University, she emphasized effective leadership and management, outreach, planning and effective program development to meet retention and student success goals. Dr. Lee earned her Ph.D. from Capella University in 2007, and in 2008 she was awarded the American Counseling Association's Outstanding Dissertation Award for her dissertation.

A current resident of New Orleans, Dr. Lee will begin her new job in Alaska on April 5. Please look for announcements of upcoming meet-and-greet sessions with the new dean once she arrives on campus.
