UAA Confucius Institute offers conversational Mandarin Chinese beginning March 2

A special 8-week Chinese language course will be offered beginning March 2 through April 29 to assist you with learning basic Chinese language skills.

If you are a UAA student, you can go to UAONLINE to register the course directly. If you are from community, please go to http://uaonline.alaska.edu and submit a non-degree seeking application online. You need to provide SSN, DOB and personal contact information.

Once this is complete, you will be given a UAA ID number. With a UAA ID number, you can either register online or do a paper add/drop from and have registrar office manually register you for course.

Conversational Mandarin Chinese I (8-week and non-credit): develops language skills in listening, speaking, reading and some writing; offers basic study of Chinese pronunciation(Pinyin), vocabulary and grammar in a communicative context; introduces aspects of Chinese culture.

No previous Chinese language background required.

Time:  6-8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday

: March 2-April 29. No class during spring break.
