Confucius Institute offers Conversational Mandarin Chinese I and II May 3-June 25

Chinese I (Eight week, non-credit)
Mondays and Wednesdays, May 3-June 25, 6-8 p.m.
Rasmuson Hall, Room 112
Develops basic language skills in listening, speaking, reading and some writing; offers basic study of Chinese pronunciation (Pinyin), vocabulary and grammar in a communicative context; introduces aspects of Chinese culture.
No previous Chinese language background required. The fee for the course is $100 and the class is capped at 15. Textbooks and CDs are included in the fee. Parking is free on campus after 7:30 p.m.
Chinese II (Eight week, non-credit)
Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 3-June 25, 6-8 p.m.
Rasmuson Hall, Room 112
Continues to develop beginning abilities in all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and some writing. Offers basic study of grammatical structures and vocabulary in a communicative context. Introduces simplified Chinese characters and aspects of Chinese culture.
Prerequisite: Conversational Mandarin Chinese I. Cost for the class is $100 and capacity will be capped at 15 students. The fee includes textbooks and CDs. Parking is free on campus after 7:30 p.m.
