April 16, 2010: Arctic FASD Regional Training Center offers FASD Foundations Workshop

The Arctic Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Regional Training Center (Arctic FASD RTC) is holding public workshops on FASDs, using the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services' FASD 101: Insights into Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders curriculum and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's FASD Competency-Based Curriculum Development Guide.
Topics include:
- Effect of alcohol on the development of the fetus
- Clinical issues, alcohol use and addiction
- Ethical and legal issues
- Treatment and support across the lifespan, primary and secondary disabilities
- Resources for diagnosis and treatment in Alaska
Workshops will be held from 1-5 p.m. in the Consortium Library Room 302a on the UAA campus. Participants will be eligible to receive continuing education (CE) credits for completion of these workshops ($25.00 processing fee).*
Please register by noon on the Thursday prior to the scheduled workshop. Workshops with fewer than five registrants may be subject to cancellation. On-site registrations will be accepted on a space available basis.
