The University of Alaska Anchorage's Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College is pleased to invite the public to a "Groundbreaking," celebrating the beginning construction of its new classroom and office building. It will be held at noon, Friday, June 18.

The new instructional facility will include a learning resource center that provides tutoring, computer and testing support, faculty and ABE/GED instructor offices, a nursing and CNA skills lab, three general classrooms and a multi-purpose science classroom. Classes and activities will now be consolidated in one location and consist of two buildings at its Kachemak Bay Campus. It will replace the currently leased "West" Campus facility.

Construction will occur over the next year with completion by next April 2011. All are invited to the groundbreaking, representing many years of planning and tremendous support by the Homer community, Rep. Paul Seaton, Sen. Gary Stevens and the University of Alaska.
