Wednesday, Aug. 4, 4:30 p.m.
UAA Campus Bookstore, Second floor

On Wednesday, August 4 at 4:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the UAA Campus Bookstore, join Dr. Bruce Rickerson, formerly a political analyst and election specialist with the Organization of American States, will delve into the inner-workings of elections from an insider's perspective.

People don't ask much from elections: clear rules, clean registration, impartial administration and scrupulous counting. But in 2010, every one of these is questioned by more and more people, not only in the United States, but all over the world in countries where there is thought to be "democracy." Do elections matter if the results can't be trusted? How can any country survive this contradiction? Join Dr. Rickerson to learn more!

Light refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the UAA Campus Bookstore. For more information about this program, please contact Doni Williams at doni@uaa.alaska.edu.
