Former Gov. Hickel's papers donated to UAA/APU Consortium Library

by Kathleen McCoy  |

In 2003, former Gov. Wally Hickel committed to contribute his papers to the UAA/APU Consortium Library for permanent archiving. Recently, the Library received an annual pledge of $30,000 for six years from Mrs. Ermalee Hickel to support the Library's efforts to conserve Hickel's papers, which contain significant information on his legacy of leadership in Alaska. His personal papers take up hundreds of boxes and will take several years to properly process for permanent storage.

The UAA/APU Consortium Library is honored to receive this donation of historical documents, which will be shared with researchers, students and the public.
