Tuesday, Feb. 8, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 9, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

The USUAA Election Board is seeking student organizations to serve as poll sitters for the USUAA Special Election on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 8 and 9. Interested student organizations must be able to commit to the following:

  • Monitor and assist student voters from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on either/or both Feb. 8 and 9. Actual polling hours will be from 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. The voting table and laptop cannot be left unattended at any time. Failure to monitor the table and laptop will result in the loss of poll sitting funds.
  • One person from each organization must attend one of the mandatory training sessions held in the Student Union Leadership Lab, Room 206 or in the Student Life and Leadership Conference room on one of the following days:
  • Thursday, Feb. 3, 11 a.m.
Student Life and Leadership Conference room, Student Union, Room 218
  • Friday, Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m.
Lyla Richards, Student Union, Room 103
  • Friday, Feb. 4, 12:30 p.m.
Lyla Richards, Student Union. Room 103
  • Friday, Feb. 4, 2:30 p.m.
Student Union Leadership Lab, Student Union, Room 206

Failure to attend this training will result in the organization's removal from their poll sitting arrangement.

Poll sitters may not be candidates in the election or hold an elected/appointed position with USUAA.

Please complete the necessary packet and return to the Student Life and Leadership Office (Student Union, Room 218), c/o Paula Fish, assistant director of Student Leadership or Anita Bradbury, USUAA administrative assistant, before noon of Monday, Feb. 7.

Election Board will provide poll sitting assignments for each club at the poll sitting trainings. Clubs that meet the above requirements and fulfill the poll sitting expectations will be awarded $100 per day of poll sitting or $200 for both days.

Two or more clubs may work together to cover one polling booth, as long as they can have at least one person there at a time the entire day (or both days).

*Incentive: $100 extra will be awarded to the polling station with the most tallied votes. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please call (907) 786-1371.
