Accounting students from the College of Business and Public Policy are teaming up to offer the Anchorage community free tax preparation through the Volunteer Urban Tax Initiative (VUTI). You qualify for free tax help if you earned less than $50,000 last year. Starting Feb. 10 and running every Thursday until April 14, VITA certified accounting students will be available to help you with your tax questions and tax returns. This year VUTI will also be assisting International students with their U.S. tax return responsibilities.

Before arriving at the site, be sure you have your social security card as well as any other family member's social security card you wish to claim as dependents. You will also need any W-2 statements from your employers and any 1099 statements from your bank.

If you have any other questions contact Nick Whitmore at (907) 355-0967 or Yulia Suslova at (715) 441-7647.
