2011 Bike to Work Day is May 20; free coffee and BBQ if you ride

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Ride date: Friday, May 20
BBQ: Friday, May 20, 11:30 a.m.
Survey deadline: Saturday, May 21

The UAA Office of Sustainability has a challenge for the campus community: Let's have more riders at Bike to Work Day this year than Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium  did last year. The number to beat is 331 riders.

Bring your bike helmet to the campus Starbucks or Daily Grind from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Bike to Work Day and enjoy a free drip coffee. Ride in on May 20 and fill out the survey by May 21, and be entered to win free prizes.

How to join:
The Cycling Seawolves team is already registered. Let us know by the end of business May 11 that you would like to join and your name will be entered in the drawing for T-shirts. You can join any time up to and including May 20, but won't be entered for a T-shirt. Join this team by contacting Kent Spiers at aysustain@uaa.alaska.edu or (907) 786-4634, or Paula Williams at anpw@uaa.alaska.edu. Or, form your own team and register with the municipality.

Please let us know if you form your own team so we can keep track of how many riders UAA has.
