Dr. Bruno Kappes of UAA, speaking at the ePIC conference in London July 11-13Dr. Bruno Kappes reports that he presented a paper entitled "Designing eLearning Environments Conducive to ePortfolio Identity Skill Development" and chaired a presentation session at ePIC 2011, the 9th International ePortfolio and Identity Conference in London, England, July 11-13, 2011.

The ePIC conference brings together policy-makers, researchers, teachers, trainers, human resource managers and technologists and allows an in-depth and broad exploration of the issues. Past events have resulted in the creation of national and international networks, contribution to policies, contribution to standardization bodies, establishing partnerships with other communities in the field of digital identity and human resource standards, transnational projects and numerous publications. Kappes is a professor of psychology and health science at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Over the last 35 years he has pioneered distance delivery psychology course instruction via tele-conferencing, live televised courses statewide in Alaska and Hawaii, as well as video, DVD and Internet. He currently provides eLearning psychology courses to 900 students per year, 300 per semester, in subjects that include general, abnormal, stress, forensic and trauma psychology.
